nastjenka: quadrophonic band.
Nastjenka.: a lake's land band born and dies in the past century.
The band was born in the Autumn of 1994. The first offspring was a tape
between May and June 1995 at "Roofcat jj" studio, in the north bank of
the lake of Varese, by the skillful hand of J. Pasquetti. In the
same year Nasten'ka played a few gigs supporting the unforgotten
Asphodel, a milestone and a band which is still close to our harts.
In April 1996 we played a live show at Radio Popolare Milano.
In June we had recorered a full-length demotape "Sedative Atmosphere",
with the usual greatly acknowledge assistance and support by Joe P.
A new take "wired gulls" (recorded al Roofcat the 26.11.1996)
is included in "Soniche Avventure II", the second volume
of Fridge records compilations. 1997 hasn't been a lucky year
for the band, despite developing of new tunes and stepping ahead on
the bank lake's mud, whoich led Nasten'ka to perform a masterpiece gig at
the Tunnel, Milan, 18/3/97, nothing much else happened. Our drummer, Alberto,
leaves the band before the end of the year.
After the struggle with that, and fixing the problems of fitting a new human
being in the collective, we recorded "Any Longer", with Francesco at
the drumset. Antonio replaced Francesco at the drums. It's 1998. The last live
performance has been held the 25 Feb. 1998 at the Link, Bologna, supported by
an opening slot of The Frozen Fracture, and is due to a great deal of dearest
friends at Gamma Pop. Nasten'ka, or Nastjenka, (is it the same?) had performed
about thirty gig, in between festivals, venue, an squats in the north and sounth
lake's land district (the Varese and Milan) area. Had three offspring, 1995,
Sedative Athmosphere and Voltage Loop. Nasten'ka mainly were Alberto, Elena,
Matteo and Lorenzo.
